Production Director

Jessica Pile

Originally from Kent Jessica trained in Theatrical costume design at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. In 2010 she joined Hand & Lock as an intern in before working her way up to Production Director in 2014.

A skilled perfectionist with a great work ethic, Jessica oversees an ever growing team of designers and embroiderers. She has an extensive understanding of costume construction and couture embroidery which, when coupled with her ability to organise large scale production, makes her a talented and capable project manager.

Jessica enjoys technically complex embroidery projects involving multiple techniques and a global army of embroiders. Her favourite projects have included embroidering an M16 Assault rifle for the Peace One Day Project, a private commission for Gilbert & George, Mary Katrantzou AW14, Burberry SS16 and the Embellished Handbag Project.

Since becoming a Director in 2014 Jessica has expanded the Embroidery School with the introduction of classes all year round, introduced the annual Festival of Embroidery and transformed the Prize into a work class couture competition. Her debut book Fashion Embroidery: Embroidery Techniques and Inspiration for Haute-Couture Clothing is available now.
