Sample of the Month: October

This month’s H&L Studio Manager, Dominique Khan chooses her favourite embroidery sample from our selection of beautiful pieces.

“I knew within an instant that I had to choose this sample. Something about it feels like the beginning of an old story, or even better an adventure that is about to begin! The colours and handcrafted embroidery technique of the children somewhat remind me of something you would see in ‘Hayao Miyazaki’ Japanese film.

Not only does it show such an innocent and playful image, but the composition of the tanned leather fabric, complement the baby like colours as well as the strong teal that separates the pastel tones. It’s so cleverly produced and would look amazing on a bomber or even better, a vintage velvet jacket”
